Probably the most exciting news of the photographic year has to be the release of a series of still images made in collaboration with the musician danger mouse for his album Dark night of the soul in which he sings as well. Photographs from the popular fairy tale series Yanagi picks up on the dark undertones of our childhood stories placing us in a world where we see a colourful world in stark blackness. 
Toronto based photographer and music video superstar Sigismondis work is the first photography book I ever brought. Yes it can be dark, yes it can be sinister but in terms of lighting and detail brings a special quality to all of her work. Fantastic.
